Dear Hearst Elementary Staff, Families, and Community,

I am honored and excited to write to you as the new Principal of Hearst Elementary School. 

For those I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I have proudly served the San Diego Unified School District for the past 23 years. Most recently, I served as the Associate Principal supporting Benchley-Weinberger and Dailard Elementary Schools. Before that, I spent seven wonderful years at Hearst as a teacher leader and administrative designee, making this community a place that has always held a special place in my heart.

Returning to Hearst truly feels like coming home. During my time here, I built meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families, celebrated successes, worked through challenges together, and witnessed firsthand what makes Hearst such an extraordinary school. I am honored to return and continue serving a community I care so deeply about.

As I begin this new chapter, I do so with great respect for the strong foundation already in place. I am grateful to Principal Waller for her leadership and dedication, and I look forward to building on the incredible work that has made Hearst such a special place. Together, we will continue creating a school where every student feels safe, valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

As both an educator and a parent, I believe strong relationships are at the heart of everything we do. My commitment is to listen, learn, and partner with our students, staff, and families to ensure every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in high expectations, inclusive practices, and fostering a culture where everyone feels they belong.

I am excited to reconnect with familiar faces, welcome new families, and partner with all of you as we continue making Hearst a place where students love to learn, staff love to work, and families feel welcomed and connected. 

I officially begin my role on July 1, 2026 and will be off calendar from July 3 through July 20, 2026. I look forward to connecting with you when I return. It is truly an honor to serve as your principal and eager to begin this next chapter together.
